This FREE utility allows you to defragment files in just a couple of mouse clicks in Windows Explorer. DefragMentor Lite implements a friendly user interface and contains a boot-time component, which allows defragmenting system files (e.g. registry and paging files) when the computer is booting up. This is very helpful if your computer gets bogged down when trying to defrag in Windows.

Even if you defragment the entire disk on a regular basis, some frequently changed files become fragmented long before the next launch of disk defragmenter. So you can use DefragMentor Lite to optimize placement of individual files thus reducing access time and improving overall performance of your system. Database files of any kind (especially large ones) are the best example of what DefragMentor Lite can optimize.

Due to the fact that some files are always locked by the operation system (e.g. registry and paging files), you cannot defragment them while the system is up and running. The Boot- Time Defragmenting feature of DefragMentor Lite allows you to defragment files of this kind during the system boot process before files get locked. All you have to do, is reboot the system from time to time in order to give DefragMentor Lite a chance to run at boot-time
