Since we recently talked about copy and paste in this newsletter, I thought I would tell you about one of the most used programs on my computer. In fact, I would not be anywhere near as productive if I did not have this program on my computer.
ClipMate saves time and makes me more productive by adding clipboard functions that the Windows clipboard leaves out. ClipMate has functions to edit, re-format, and manage your clipboard data. I use it every week to format my articles into 64 character lines. It can also print, re-format, and even spell-check. I can copy words or e-mail addresses one at a time, and then use clipmate to combine them and paste the list all at once. I can add any text I want to each item as well as remove things from a clip. ClipMate is great at removing the greater than marks (>>>) from forwarded e-mail messages.
ClipMate holds THOUSANDS of “clips” for days, weeks, even years if you need it to. And you can organize, edit, re-format, print, combine, search, and manage your data. I have several folders in clipmate that hold information for future articles, HTML code that I use often, and newsletter issues. You can even encrypt sensitive information like credit card numbers.
