Open Office is a wonderful FREE alternative to Micro$oft Office. It does pretty much everything that Office does, except for the e-mail and calendar stuff, and that can be taken care of using Thunderbird. You do a wonderful job Elizabeth. Thank you.

Whenever I get email attachments that I can't open, such as xls or PowerPoint, I save them to my computer desktop and then upload them to the Google Documents program on my free Gmail account. It saves space on your computer if you then delete the email (now stored online) and the saved file from the deskop, and you don't have to download any new programs to view those files.
