Moving Pictures
Dear Computer Lady,
I have a question about photos. I save my digital photos on my computer in folders.
When I transfer them to another place, for example WalMart to order photos they copy themselves into the folder. If I move the pictures one at a time they don’t do that. But if I use ctrl to move more than one picture they recopy themselves. Sometimes I end up with 10 copies of every picture in the folder.

Laptop Screen is Dark

I just found your site and it looks very helpful. Great. I hope you can answer my question.
I have a older Dell Inspiron (model pp14l). When I run it on battery only the screen is noticeably dark, compared to when I plug it in. so I run it on juice almost all of the time.
What does this sound like to you? I’ve been told to replace the battery?

This week, I had a computer problem that I want to tell you about, because it illustrates how suddenly and unexpectedly you can lose important data on your computer.

Printing Labels in Word
Dear Computer Lady:
I really need your help. I cannot find anyone who knows the answer, even in Word 7 for Dummies.
When making labels, the options given do not match the Avery product code so it is impossible, unless you know the secret, to choose the correct label size.
I can not understand why Microsoft would make something so simple so difficult. I know others are asking the same question. I tried to find the answer with a Google search. Lots of questions – no answers that make sense.

I’m not really familiar with Kindle or Nook, but I’m seriously thinking about getting a Kindle Touch. Can you help me with some questions?
I have heard that local libraries have “free downloads” to Kindles (and possibly some other readers), but if I download a book at my library, do I have it for only 2 weeks like I would if I checked out a “normal book”?
