Dear Kathryn,

All you need to do is make a change in your AOL settings. Here is how:

1. Go to www.aol.com and click on the “Mail” icon.

2. Sign in to your AOL email account with your user name and password.

3. Click on “Settings” in the upper-right corner of your screen.

4. Click on “Compose” in the left hand column.

5. Find the “Display Name” section, and change P to whatever you want to be displayed when you send an email.

6. Scroll down and click the “Save” button at the bottom of the page.

This should fix your problem.

Dear Computer Lady,

What a great website you have created. I also learn so much from you. I have XP and use internet explorer as my browser. I will be going in for surgery and I don’t want to come home in 10 days to find numerous emails. Is there a sleep mode or a message to put my computer on OFF while I’m gone.

Thank you in advance, Barb in Buffalo, NY

Dear Barb,

I noticed that you are using an AOL email address. Since I do not use AOL, I am going to ask for help on this question.

If you are reading this question and know how to help Barb set up her AOL account the way she wants, please leave a comment at the end of this post.

Thanks for your help!
